We are the Mahe’s and we’d like to share our journey with Housing Foundation and how we finally achieved our dream of homeownership.
Our journey with Housing Foundation began in 2020. At that time, we weren’t quite ready to purchase a home, so our plans were put on hold. We faced another opportunity in mid-2022, but just as we were reaching the final steps, we learned that we weren’t eligible due to various reasons. This setback left us feeling like homeownership might never be within our grasp.
Discouraged by our previous attempts, I was initially reluctant to try again. But something kept telling me to give it another shot – after all, we had nothing to lose. So, despite the setbacks, I submitted our application along with all the required documents.
In February 2024, we received pre-approval, and the following three months were spent diligently cleaning up our bank accounts and saving as much as possible. By May 2024, we were finally in our new home, and our happiness was beyond words.
From the moment I submitted our third application, the process was smooth sailing. Reflecting on our journey, we now see that the initial setbacks were part of a larger plan. What seemed like delays were actually perfect timing for us, reminding us that while we often want things to happen on our own schedule, God’s timing is always perfect.
Adjusting to homeownership has been a rewarding challenge. It’s been about learning new habits and letting go of old ones, but every step has been worth it. We’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity and the timing that brought us here.
We owe a heartfelt thank you to the entire Housing Foundation team. Their support and dedication have been invaluable, and we’re thankful for their role in making our dream a reality. We’re excited to be part of the homeownership team and to start this new chapter in our lives.
